OUR STORY
Diaperworld was started in 2009. In the beginning, we only sold well-known brands, as this was what was known in the market. We noticed that these well-known brands were not very affordable for the low-income market and, therefore, decided to start importing cheaper but quality diapers.
We found that we could import B-grade diapers, sort and package them in our own warehouse, and thus, we were able to provide the low-income market with affordable, quality diapers.
As well as baby diapers, we found that there was also a huge demand for affordable adult diapers, and therefore, we decided to start importing, sorting, and packaging adult diapers as well.
Because we only sourced high-quality diapers and were able to supply them at reasonable costs, we were able to grow the business in just a few years.
However, there came a time when we wanted to start our own brand, thus creating the Penguin brand.In 2012, we started our Penguin brand with our then-sister company, Infinity Care, who were the manufacturers.
The Penguin diaper was very successful and soon became our leading brand, with most sales being in the informal market.
In 2019, after Infinity Care closed, we started a new journey with Elite Baby, who now manufacture our Penguin brand and Kidi Bear Supadry brand.
We still import our adult diapers and wet wipes and have established our different brands, namely Evony adult diapers, Yibero adult pull-ups, and Tenera baby wet wipes.
Within 2025 or 2026, we plan on purchasing our own adult diaper machine and, therefore, producing our adult diapers in South Africa.
Thereafter, we would also like to purchase a wet wipes machine so that, in a few years, all our products will be proudly South African.
Diaperworld’s aim is to provide affordable, quality diapers to everyone, especially low-income households.
